Sugababes – made up of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy – have announced that they’ll be releasing a brand new album next year.
The self-titled album includes 12 tracks and will be released on February 12, 2027, marking the first album from the original group line up since their debut One Touch in 2000.
Speaking about the album’s release, the trio said: “We knew from the beginning that we didn’t want to rush this record. We’ve poured so much into the songs, the sound and every detail around it, and the more it came together, the clearer it became that there was only one thing we could call it: Sugababes. It feels unmistakably us. We’ve loved writing and recording this record, and we’re so excited that it’s finally time for people to hear it.”

While Sugababes have previously released ‘Jungle’ and ‘Weeds’, today the trio unveiled ‘Ghost’ which acts as the album’s lead single. Written by Mutya, Keisha and Siobhán alongside Jon Shave and Wayne Hector, ‘Ghost’ was inspired by an experience Siobhán had with her first love.
Speaking to British Vogue, she said: “He essentially ghosted me before we even had the terminology for it. I remember joking at the time that in some ways it would have been easier if he’d died – which is obviously incredibly dramatic, but there’s something strange about grieving someone who’s still out there.”

The self-titled album from the Sugababes feels like a wonderful full circle moment for the trio. Not only is the record set to be them at their most authentic, but the cover was shot by Liz Collins who was also responsible for the One Touch cover. If ‘Ghost’ is a sign of things to come then we couldn’t be more excited to hear what’s next from Mutya, Keisha and Siobhán.
